How can we use our skills to help in the fear-itis pandemic?

Ok, here we are, all of us in the feelings business whether we like it or not. Some of us are just discovering what we can and can't do, some have been using their skills for years. We have healers and artists, knowers and doers, dreamers and transformers, listeners, thinkers, movers and shakers...
The potential in this community is awesome! What can we do right now to help in the face of airborn heebie jeebies, needles and flying pigs, and closed, silent schools frightening people? How can we harness our good sensing in time of need?

What are YOU doing? do you need back up?

A lot was said recently about how we pick up people's feelings of fear, anger and grief. I believe these are all things that can be magnified, fear, especially can be used as a tool against people. Fear can hinder healinng and give good conditions for illness. what, on an emotional level can work toward healing, strengthening, shielding, harmonising, comforting? Can we send out warmth and courage? Prayers? If a lot of us focus on good energies together...

I want to be a knight-ette in shining "amour" for these times. I am working on my own inner pool of courage and human warmth. What else can I do? Who will join me?

Deirdre,
I read somewhere, 'what we fear draws near,' My intent is to focus on the opposite of fear-love, and not be drawn in to the emotions and negativety of fear.(This isn't always easy!) But, sooo worth the effort!
Much love to you,
Lynn (focusing on Love)

Send light love joy and laughter... Suggest some alternative means for people to heal with... I like to use essential oils... oregano, eucalyptus, thyme, diffusing these... letting people see me staying healthy even though I have a lowered immune system due to lyme... lets them know that they don't have to get sick from the airborne stuff.. if they do they can limit it's cycle by diffusing these oils... I also like bioking... And remind them it is the flu....

The mere connotation of using the word pandemic in itself causes fear. I think its just like the premise of Y2K and the coming 2012 people create the fear. What we have to do is understand that often fear is a factor in something much more sinister in effect causing people to purchase many unneeded items. It is a way to stir, a way to make a point, a way sadly of many making money off those who panic.

The negativity breeds negativity. The ultimate goal is to stop the negativity and replace it with positivity. Just my thoughts on this!

Jasmyn, thank you for all the good ideas. I like that about being a good exsample one's self, and light, love, joy and laughter sounds like a potent mix to send out! I have had my first brush with angel humour which I never knew existed till now (see my blog joke) and that would be great energy to send out!
Madison, you reminded me of the old saying: nothing to fear but fear itself. Positive energy is a great antidote!
Question: how would you go about sending that out? Meditating? How can we empaths SEND good feelings?

I think it can be sent through prayers, meditation and simply through the thought process we go through every day. I suggest we each make a conscious effort to make a positive move toward each person we come in contact with, very often positivity will spread at least through one of those people and perhaps more. It can be quite contagious...

Detachment is a good thing for me -- and Empathy/Compassion .. so that I can look beyond the initial reactions and see the fear -- which can be a person reacting to the hype of an overblown news story -- to severe -- which is a shadow totem lurking within the person which needs to be conquered.

Since Fear saps energy -- those who work with enery, like Reiki, Light/Body workers and various types of 'healers', fear is a big thing. And due to that, the Empathy/Compassion comes in to really give one a good perspective -- since I'm not jumping in there to "fix" folks and thier issue -- I see if they want to be helped and if they are responsive & apply any advice given.

Since we all too often see folks comfortable in thier little "cube" and don't want to be taken outside of it -- and fight tooth and nail every step of the way -- since most folks would rather suffer with fear, than break those bonds and be free of it.

If they are ready for help and are open to advice and willing to apply it -- then I can be of service and be there for them. The trick is having the discernment and wisdom of timing it right ..:)

Maddy, you are right about the small encounters. Big things can happen from small exchanges and sunshine is contageous. It is Mukwa's reply that is really giving me a lot to think about. That sword of discernment is one I have been trying to learn about for a while now. I feel a bit swordless and am trying to forge a new one. May be William Cunningham can help me there! I was told, in drama school, that my inner jesture on the stage is both arms wide open embracing the audience and that I need to learn to keep one arm for me. Like a farmer sowing seeds with one hand and holding ther bag with the other.
Detatchment. Hmmm. I do know what you mean. Detatched I still am pretty darn interwoven. So does that mean send out sunshine and trust that those open to it will receive it and all others are walking their own paths?

Sending Love. Always. I don't live in a good area. I don't want to be negative in how I talk about it because that just ADDS to the negativity around me. That's an important part to it---we add to it by focusing on it. So, I send Love. Start on myself, imagine myself in a nice pink bubble of Love. Then I see my husband and the cats and the energies that hang out here around us. Then the flat we live in. Then the house the flat is in. Then the immediate neighbourhood. Then the whole city. Then the whole country. And the whole Earth. I make this part of my daily and nightly mediations. I even surround this community in a big Bubble of Love. The way I visualise it varies. One of the easiest ways is to see myself in a room with monitors on a wall with live, Google-Earth feeds of all the various locales, surrounded in Love. That's how I keep myself grounded and not a part of the Fear Plague. And as for needing back up, well, got it. In the form of you lot and all those forces of Light. And my cats. ;-) Love and Light to all---Pat

Deirdre,
I love this question.
I am sure you have read the book small miracles.
My suggestion is simple.
show love and kindness daily to everyone around you.
The guy pan handling on the corner.
the elderly person struggling to put there groceries in the car or reach something from a shelf.
it can be anything no matter how small
imagine if all people everywhere started practicing this.
How beautiful would our world be then?

any doom and gloom type person can be brought back to the light with a simple change in thought. Name something good in your life, and another and another. People will spiral down, but can just as easily spiral back up as well. sometimes ya just gotta smack them with a bit of reality to get the wheels in the right motion.
