For now, before I get into a more in-depth conversation about healing, I simply wish to ask if there are people in this community that have any advice for a young woman who might want to use her empathic ability to help others in the form of using Reiki. I don't quite understand why more people with empathy don't seem to be too concerned about how to use their amazing gift of sensing energy to help others. Aren't we all here, in truth, because we feel other's pain? So why do so many people seem so focused on helping themselves?

Amy's right...Einstein did so poorly in school he had to leave just to *unclutter* his mind. Natural discovery is the true way of learning.

to quickly reiterate my personal experience, deeming myself an empath just recently after 20+ years of being emotionally burdened by people at times and not understanding how to harness the energy/emotion and release in a healthy way. In short, my test results were 100% human empath and healer empath. I've given countless massages to family/friends and they always told me I should pursue the career due to my skill. I suspect my skill in massage has been benefited by my empath abilities, I just was not aware previously. At this point in my life, I wish to pursue several life choices, one being massage and I intend to take some reiki classes to hopefully learn how to harness the energy within. I really don't know a lot about it, but basically I wish to reply stating I have wondered the same, and feel a similar way about using our gift in that way.

Be well

I'm a Reiki Master/Teacher and I use the energy to help aid in healing. The Reiki goes where it needs to go. I'm just the channeler for the energy.

It's kind of hard to help others when you feel lost yourself. Quiet your inner demons, and align yourself to your own inner self and your higher power, and you will be in a much better position to help other's. Same as for Reiki or any other energy type healing. If you have alot of issues not yet resolved, you can send them healing energy, but it won't be nearly as powerful as it would be without all the baggage because that energy is scattered. Also, if you still have all that baggage , whether it be healing work you are trying to do or any other type of energy thing, you will probebly send out other energies that you don't want sent out which would cause them even greater harm. It's not that people are so focused on themselves and forget everyone else, but rather working on themselves SO they can effectively help others.
As far as your question about reiki, I have no clue, still researching it myself. I know it is a form of energy work, and the only thing so far that I don't agree with is the "attunment" unless, i misunderstood which is very possible, I don't feel that you have to have your teacher "give you" that energy or that that energy has to be passed down from a master to student thing. However, if a person believes it must in order for it to work for them, then that's what needs to be done.. I feel if we call upon the Divine and ask, it will be upon us. However, as a practioner of witchcraft, I believe that Reiki and spellcasting are basically the same thing. It's focused energy for a specific result. (I'll probebly get alot of arguements for that comment) but witches have understood energy, how to use, how it works since the beginning of time. And at it's most basic form in both, You call upon your Higher Power, you channel that specific energy from them, and send it out. the differance is in spellcasting it is sent back into the universe until it manifests. In Reiki, it's more designed for healing and goes straight into that specific person. (Though for healing rituals, ect,in spellcasting, it is also done the same way). Focused energy that you give or send out to manifest a specific goal. However, faith is also a common dinominator and is worthless without it. Meaning, that if you "hope" it will work, it may or may not work, but if you KNOW it will work, it will work. Again, this is just the basic concept and my opinion.

I personally believe spellwork and reiki and prayer can work in the realm of free will and random cause and effect. I do not believe we can override Karma. The matrix of our living purpose. Which is why I do not like when people say, "oh that person died because you didn't *believe enough..." or you didn't win the lottery because you didn't visualize yourself getting the money."
There is Karma..the matrix program..and then there are realms of free will and random exchange. I'm probably not choosing the exact right words, but this is as close to what I'm thinking as I can get. There are room for miracles and then there's the locked door that says "do not enter " This is why the great avatars urge us to pray for the strength to accept the greater will. ...if you know what I mean.

I agree with that to. I kind of look at it like the "safety net" because sometimes we do things that we may not be in the best interest in the "greater good" or in our own destinies. We don't always listen to them and sometimes they have to intervene. I feel there is a grand plan and it will be carried out reguardless of our amount of faith, ect. so no, not everything we ask for we get, but there are alot of things we can get by doing it.
What you said Roxy kind of reminds me of a friend of mine. She was pregnant a long time ago and the doctors recommended that she have an abortion because the child had no chance of survival and it would also be risky for her. She went to this church and they were completely against it. they told her to continuiously pray and by faith the child would be healed. She carried the child full term, but the child died within 2 hours after her birth. The parents were heart broken and went back to that church to find comfort , instead they were told that they didn't have enough faith and this is why this happend. I found out about it years later and explained that it wasn't their lack of faith. Instead, maybe there was a greater purpose. Her mother died a few years before that and was skitzophrenic. So I was thinking that now that she was up in heaven , she was finally able to be the mother she always wanted to be and took care of the child before she came down. The child saw how lonely this made her grandmother and decided that she was still needed by her grandmother, so she went back. Some things we can't change no matter how much we wish and pray for it, but we sure can keep trying :).

Amen, sister Angel...Amen.

FYI: Dr. did/said same thing to my sister-in-law when she was at 6 months. Told her to have abortion because child did not develop lungs or vital organs.

then of course they told her *try not to be stressed by this* -- Long story short,a beautiful and complete Child was stillborn, but placentia abrubtia (probably brought on by STRESS) caused death.

So you see when dealing with doctors we often *need miracles*...and we "sure can keep trying."

I'm so sorry for your friend. It's a terrible & traumatic thing to witness. And then the people who dare speak of faith and God become part of the disease with their words. So sad.
Hugs,
Roxy
