OMG,Crystal...I have been seeing that number for years,everywhere...On the clock,when I buy things at a store,when I'm watching a sporting event...I always knew it was trying to tell me something but I could never figure out what it was...Then an empath here who went by the name Mahina (I don't think she comes here anymore) gave me this link...it was an epiphany! Now I understand what it was all about...Basically it was telling me to put aside my accepted beliefs,and open my mind to new possibilities.

thanks for the link Crispy!! heh yeah i been seeing it for 4 years as I recall, maybe longer but haven't paid attention too it, then after I joined here I was like to myself "I wonder if its an empath thing" hmm...so for its just you and me! still wondering if anyone eles here sees it alot. if they do then i'll prove my point and I'll know for sure its an empath thing :-)

i belive that there are spirts trying to guide us...cus I see them at times and its like its trying to point something out that's going on at that time. and usely it is pointing out something that im either thinking about or doing.

I see 11:11 and other numbers (9:11) frequently- on the clock mostly. In cognitive science there is an explanation for it that does away with the Guardians theory.

Confirmation bias in cognitive theory- or apophenia- is the experience of detecting patterns in random data. If you find you glance at the clock at random intervals during the day and at one point it happens to be 11:11 you're more likely to take notice because your subconscious mind has associated the numbers with some significance. Furthermore, if you glance at the clock say 4x a day and every couple/few days you glance at 11:11, your mind picks up on only the moment you glance 11:11- the other times you viewed are, as far as your mind is concerned, meaningless and thus overlooked.

Another enigma to note is the idea that knowledge gained by one member of a species is introduced subconsciously to all other members of the species, thus making it easier for information to be gained and utilized throughout the species. If I recall correctly, this theory was developed through training rats. Scientists noticed that if a rat in one lab was taught an action, rats located in labs across the nation would learn the action at a quicker pace and with more ease. I read about this in Intelligence in Nature by Jeremy Narby (he has a few decent books, I recommend check him out on Amazon).

I note this because it gains to reason that if people are spreading the news that "11:11 is a lucky time" (and they have since I was 9 at least) or 911 is an unlucky omen, humans are going to subconsciously store this information. Depending on how superstitious they are, or aren't, they may become more aware of these numbers' as compared to other number sequences. So it becomes somewhat of a self-fulfilling enigma. The more often you take notice of it, the more you convince yourself it is significant.

I'm all for anomalies, spirits, paranormal happenings, and else, but critical thinking has to play a role in discovering what is and isn't important to pick up on, otherwise meaning can be found in just about anything!

I actually thought it was just me. For months now seems every time I look at the clock it's 11:11. Of course this can only happen twice a day. My wife and I started to notice it, and then it became something of a 'holy crap I just looked at the clock again and it's 11:11' thing. We actually have been noticing it and talking about it for months. Then, while I was researching the Mayan 2012 thing, I noticed that our sun will be crossing the galactic equator on dec 21, 2012 at 11:11 and I'm wondering what it all means. Is it all related, because 11:11 is in my face all the time and it's really not because I'm looking for it. It's just there every time I turn around it seems. Any more thoughts on this would be helpful. The links posted by Crispy and Crystal are very interesting I think!
